Just like you, I was once new to fitness and made steady progress the first few years. But in 2014, I herniated my disk while front squatting. My physical therapist at the time said I had absolutely no glute muscles. I couldn't even extend my leg backwards using my ass!
Looking back, I realized the gains I made in those first few years came from over-relying on my quads and lower back. This slowed my progress and put me at risk for my eventual severe injury.
After my injury, I decided to learn more about glute health and started prioritizing glute focused workouts. This new approach helped me quickly regain my former strength and build more confidence in my lifts.
